Dear Campus Community,

Starting this fall, UCR will be implementing the Course Scheduling Committee’s recommendation that classes begin on the hour and half hour, which will result in a ten-minute time shift to our class schedule.

For example, if a class previously ran from 8:10 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., it will now run from 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. This change affects all classes, no matter which day of the week they are held.

Aligning our class schedule with the hour and half hour will allow students, faculty, and staff to better integrate their on-campus and off-campus activities and help to sync up our class schedule with our many other important campus schedules.

It will be important to ensure that this change is registered on all documentation related to class schedules. Faculty and staff should double-check syllabi and any other documents that contain course times to help alleviate confusion.

Thank you all for your help as we work together to acclimate to the time shift.

Sincerely,

Cindy
